Abney Park comes from an era that never was, but one that we wish had been. An era where airships waged war in the skies, and corsets and cummerbunds were proper adventuring attire. They have picked up their bad musical habits, scoundrelous musicians, and anachronistically hybridized instruments from dozens of locations and eras that they have visited in their travels and thrown them into one riotous dervish of a performance. Expect clockwork guitars, belly dancers, flintlock bassists, middleastern percussion, violent violin, and Tesla powered keyboards blazing in a post- apocalyptic, swashbuckling, Steampunk musical mayhem. |
| The band features: Robert "Dread Captain Robert" Brown - Songs, Lead Vocals, Darbuka, Piloting Kristina "Angel" Erickson - Keyboards, Vocals, Navigation, Accounting, Skepticism Daniel "It Was Supposed To Explode" C - Bass, Gadgets, Gizmos, Flintlocks, and Fire Extinguishers Finn Von Claret - Writhing and Wailing Nathaniel "Two Sheds" Johnstone - Guitar, Violin, Stockroom, Doling Out the Shots (Drinkable and Otherwise). For more information, visit their official website: www. abneypark.com | |

Asheville, North Carolina's Hellblinki Sextet can be an everchanging, rotating cast of characters, often including violin, cello, horns of various shapes and sizes, male and female vocals, all manner of percussion, and, of course, the drunken and deamonic howls of the audience... but at this moment in time Hellblinki is manifest as a three piece, Andrew (Vocals, Drums, Guitar, Accordion), Valerie (Vocals, Glockenspiel, Melodica, Accordion, assorted knick nacks and devices), and Brad (Bass, Percussion, Accordion), or sometimes Rodney (bass of all varieties)... You can find their MySpace here. |

Spider Lilies is a musical electro goth rock project led by Stacey Campbell, former guitarist/backup vocalist of the Cruxshadows. The Spider Lilies began in 1999, and after touring the U.S, Europe and Scandinavia extensively with the Cruxshadows, Stacey got back to the Spider Lilies project in 2003. Many important contributions have been made to the project by various talented artists. Dawn Perego gave special production support for the first two releases, a 3-song Limited Edition EP, in August 2005, and the full-length album "In the Light," released in 2006. Also in 2006, William Smith joined the Spider Lilies as lead guitarist and co-writer, followed by Kevin Smith who performed as the live keyboardist until 2009. Most recently, Connor Clay joined Spider Lilies as keyboardist. The Spider Lilies have toured throughout the eastern and central part of the United States, and have gained international recognition for their music, which is a blend of rock, darkwave, electro, and goth, featuring female vocals, guitar, electronic rhythms and samples. The band is currently recording songs for their next full-length CD to be released in Fall 2009, and expect many exciting things coming up for the rest of 2009! You can also catch them on Facebook. |

Tribal Motion Belly Dance: Bellydancers with a flare for the dramatic! This Benton based tribal fusion troupe infuses their sets with elaborate costuming, innovative music choices, and emotive dancer interactions to create a unique dance-story. When not producing their own complex and strange belly-ballets you can find them performing regularly at restaurants as well as charitable, and artistic events throughout Central Arkansas. If you've see bellydancers in Arkansas and thought "I didn't know they could do that!" you were probably watching Tribal Motion. |

Legendary Los Angeles Deathrock veterans ExVoto have just released their latest effort ANTIOCH following the widely acclaimed DOLOROSO of 2007. This makes their fourth full length CD to date (Not counting their numerous Cleopatra Records releases). With a history that takes them back to the early 80's and full circle in the tags they have been given over the years - from Post Punk to Deathrock, Gothic, Gothic rock, Darkwave and back to Deathrock; call them what you like, but the one thing that remains is that they're a blend of high energy music that combines guitars, keyboards and drum machine in an up-beat frenzy of energy that is sure to please those with ears to hear. You would be sadly mistaken to expect two guys in shorts and tee shirts standing in a cloud of fog onstage pressing buttons. When they play live be ready for the place to come alive! Larry Rainwater handles the duty of the low hummer and vocals so low you feel them in your feet, Spleen punishes the ivories and hypnotizes the audience with looks that could kill and a voice to match, Patrick Midnite keeps the rock pumping from the guitars with his blast first style, sure to wear you out just watching him go. All in all it's a great time for everyone ... that is, if you enjoy being moved by the music. |

A Ravenwood Favorite, and our DJ coordinator, DJ AnnabelEvil joins us from the city of New York. Her styles mainly include Synthpop, Futurepop, Noise, & Electronic. Annabel started spinning in April 2001 in Kansas City. After some stops in Ohio and Pennsylvania, she moved to CT for two years, and made her way to New Jersy/NYC in Aug 2008. She DJs at Evilution in NYC, and works for Vampirefreaks.com - spinning shows and parties, as well as running the online store and working in their brick and mortar store in NYC. DJing is one of the most important things in her life. According to Annabel, it's the people on the floor that do it. To be able to make them move gives her a feeling like no other. Annabel also guest DJs at Tulsa's Assimilation and Fayetteville's Neo Victorian dance nights. |

DJ Azrael grew up in Chicago, IL and was introduced to the Chicago RAVE scene by age 14 which also happens to be the year he began his DJ career. Originally DJing Vinyl, he focused on Drum and Bass, Happy Hardcore, Jungle, and Chicago House. Azrael spun at Raves and Clubs around the Chicagoland and the tri-state area (IL, WI and IN) for 7 years. Notable clubs included The Vision Night Club, Zero Gravity, and Nocturna, and a few notable Raves are Bonkers 1, Bonkers 2, Stardust, and others. In July of 2004 he sold off his vinyl and equipment and moved to Fayetteville, AR for school. Shortly after settling in Arkansas, he helped create and promote a small goth scene at The Dart Room with only a boombox and a few friends, which would eventually include End: The DJ. Thus The Dark Room was born, and this is when Azrael transitioned from Vinyl to CD/MP3 music due to cost and availability, and began to DJ more extensive music genres, including DnB, Happy Hardcore, House, Techno, Trance, Jungle, Gothic, Industrial, EBM, Psytrance, Psychedelic, and almost everything else! Now he enjoys being able to bring a wide array of danceable music for the whole crowd to enjoy. He has also been involved with a few Raves, Festivals and Industrial Nights in Arkansas, including: Soulstice '06-'08, Earthtones '08, The Dark Room 2004-2008, Neo Victoria 2009-present, Ravenwood 2008-present, and others in the surrounding states. |
